Lisa Diller is a ten year resident of Newark and a ten year member of the 23rd District Democratic Committee.  She most recently served as the pastor of the Christiana Presbyterian Church in historic Christiana Village.

Lisa Diller is married to John Tobin, a fellow Democrat, AFSCME member of Local 1862, Vice-Chair of the 23rd, and author of the blog: http://politicsbythenumbersmostlydelaware.blogspot.com.  John is a native Delawarean, born in Milford on Delaware Day (and everyone knows that's December 7!).

Lisa has been endorsed by Representative Terry Schooley of the 23rd District and Representative John Kowalko of the 25th District.  Together, these districts make up 85% of the voters in the 5th County Council District.  Lisa has also received the endorsement of the Women's Democratic Club of Delaware and the Progressive Democrats.

In addition to her involvement with the 23rd district, Lisa has been a member of the Women's Democratic Club since 1996.  She was active in Women for Minner, Women for Markell and chaired Women for Terry Schooley.  She has also been active in other Democratic campaigns.

Lisa and John attended the University of Delaware as undergraduates and they returned to the community because they thought it would be a great place to raise their family.  Their daughter Mei is a student at John R. Downes Elementary School.

Lisa’s experience with both nonprofit organizations and government agencies gives her management experience and an understanding of the importance of constituent services.  She most served as the administrator for the State of Delaware’s Office of Volunteerism where she managed a multi-million dollar budget.  She also holds a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary and teaches at several local colleges.
